Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, a popular event on college campuses and within local communities throughout the country, asks men to literally walk a mile in women’s shoes as a way to Put Yourself in Her Shoes™ and speak out against rape, sexual assault, and gender violence, while also raising awareness about sexual violence prevention and resources available to survivors.
The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® UGA event provides an opportunity for the campus community to join together and demonstrate solidarity for efforts to stop the violence and speak out. It is intentionally scheduled during the beginning of the semester – a critical time within the school year which is typically marked by increased reports of sexual assaults on all college campuses.
There is no cost to participate in the walk. Participants are welcome to walk as an individual, and organizations are highly encouraged to participate in a group.
