What if I Miss the Deadlines?

If you miss the Part 1 deadlines, finish Part 1 of both AlcoholEdu and Haven as soon as possible. There is a 45 day intersession between Part 1 and 2. Finishing Part 1 as soon as possible will impact your completion date for Part 2 for each course.

If you miss the Part 2 deadlines, a hold will be placed on your student account. You will still be able to access and take the course after this time, but there may be complications with removing your registration hold. Holds are automatically removed within 2 business days of completion. If you still have a hold after 2 business days, contact alcoholedu@uhs.uga.edu to ask for help. You will need to show verification of course completion to receive assistance.

Log in to Haven Plus

To log in, you will use your UGA MyID and password (this is the same username and password you use to login to Athena). When asked to enter your 810/811#, enter the 9 digits starting with 811. Do not include the last number of your id.

Having Problems Logging In?

  1. If you are trying to login using a phone or ipad, please try logging in using either a laptop or desktop computer.
  2.
  3. Try logging into Athena (athena.uga.edu) If you can’t do this, the problem is with your UGA ID and not with the course. You will need to contact the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106 and get this fixed. If you can successfully log in to Athena then it is something more specific to Everfi.
  4.
  5. Change your UGA MYID password, but don’t include any of the following symbols < > \ [ ]
  6.
  7. Make sure you are logging into AlcoholEdu using the link from the UHC website (see above under “How Do I Take the Courses”). Your username and password for AlcoholEdu should be exactly the same as the one you use to login to Athena.
  8.
  9. If you are still experiencing problems logging into the course, please send a screenshot of the page where you get stuck and your 810/811# to alcoholedu@uhs.uga.edu

Who Needs to Take These Courses?

All incoming first year and transfer students under the age of 23.

If you have not turned 23 by the first date of classes for the semester in which you start, you must take both of the courses.

What if I Have Already Taken the Courses at Another Institution?

UGA can only see accounts completed by students who registered with a UGA ID and cannot see accounts from another institution.

If you can show proof of completion for AlcoholEdu and Haven with a passing grade of 85% or higher within the last year, it might be possible to exempt out of taking one or both of the courses through UGA.

Email screenshots of the Course Progress sections of AlcoholEdu & Haven from your old account to alcoholedu@uhs.uga.edu. The image should show your name in the upper right hand corner, your exam grade, and the completion date of Part 2 in the screenshot for each course.

You will then be notified by the course administer as to the next steps you need to take to meet UGA’s requirements or if you can be exempt from the courses. Until you receive notification from the course administrator, do not assume you are exempt from these requirements.

How Long Can I Expect the Courses to Take?

AlcoholEdu will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.

Haven will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

I’m not 21, but I Still Drink. Will My Answers Be Private?

The AlcoholEdu course will include surveys about your personal health behaviors to help personalize your experience and measure students’ alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; UGA will only receive information about the student body as a whole and never your individual answers as a student.

What Else Should I Know?

  •
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings, but make sure to click on the “next” button after completing a section before logging out. If you do not progress to the next section first, you will have to repeat the previous section.
