At the University Health Center, we love to talk about health and we love to eat. In the Nutrition Teaching Kitchen, we offer healthy cooking classes that are fun, educational and interesting. Angie Ruhlen, a registered dietitian, will teach you the right balance between flavor and nutrition on a tight budget. You will get the opportunity to practice healthy cooking techniques while enjoying a delicious meal. Food Safety Tip: To prevent food-borne illness—Separate,
don't cross contaminate!
When cooking with raw meat, poultry, eggs and seafood:
keep their juices separate from ready to eat foods
use separate cutting boards for raw meat and other foods
never place cooked food on a plate which previously held raw
meat, poultry and seafood
always wash hands, cutting boards, dishes and utensils with
hot soapy water after they come in contact with raw meat, poultry
and seafood.
