Dear Student,

UGA is excited to bring to first year and transfer students MyStudentBody.com (MSB), an interactive online safety program. Completion of the MSB Essentials Course is a university requirement, which can help make your college experience a safer and healthier one.

My Student Body Essentials Course provides personalized health information, interactive tools, and coping strategies that are up-to-date and scientifically accurate. The MSB Essentials Course consists of three separate sections covering the topics of alcohol, drugs, and sexual violence.

Completion of the MSB Essentials Course is required for incoming students. Please follow instructions exactly as stated to avoid problems with flag removal from your record.

WHO needs to take MSB?

MSB is required for all first year and transfer students under the age of 23. Graduate students are excluded. The online course must be passed with an 80% or higher. The Essentials Course will take anywhere from 1 - 3 hours to complete.

Failure to complete this requirement will result in a flag being placed on your student record until the course is passed. A flag on your record will prevent you from registering for future classes until you have fulfilled the requirement.

Once you have passed the course, you will be awarded an electronic certificate to indicate that you have passed. If you do not receive a certificate, you did not pass and the flag will not be removed from your record.

Think you took the course but still have a flag? Please click here.

READ THIS before you get started -- MyStudentBody Alcohol Student Guide

Before you get started, please read through the following guide.

1.) All first-year and transfer students under the age of 23 are required to pass the MSB Essentials Course by October 17 if starting in the Fall Semester. If starting in the Spring Semester, the deadline is March 9. Graduate students are excluded from the requirement.

2.) The University expects all academic work to be the student's own, and MSB is no exception. "Academic Honesty" means performing all academic work without plagiarism, cheating, lying, tampering, stealing, receiving unauthorized or illegitimate assistance from any other person, or using any source of information that is not common knowledge. Violations of the academic honesty policy will be reported to the Office of the Vice President for Instruction.

3.) ALL of your responses are completely confidential.

4.) You must have Adobe Flash, RealAudio, and Adobe Acrobat Reader to run or view course content. These standard browsers and plug-ins are readily available on most web-enabled computers in the U.S. Most UGA campus computers are equipped with these programs. (Note: International students may have difficulty accessing the site from their home countries. In this case, these students should wait until arriving on campus to complete the requirement.)

5.) If you're experiencing technical difficulties with the course:
   • Browse through the Frequently Asked Questions.
   • Contact myStudentBody.com Tech Support Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
