FLY (For Loving Yourself) was organized to increase awareness about the issues on the UGA campus surrounding body image, self-esteem, negative media influences and eating disorders.
Mission Statement:
FLY is an organization for promoting the positive effects of a healthy body image while creating awareness about issues such as eating disorders, dieting and body satisfaction. While FLY does serve as an outlet for students interested in these issues, FLY is not a treatment or support group.
Activities:
FLY provides educational programs to residence halls and student groups, organizes events that correspond with Eating Disorders Awareness Week, and offers opportunities for further education and discussion for their members through guest speakers and meetings.
To request a program, or if you are an RA and would like to use FLY materials for a bulletin board, email Alice Bender, Nutritionist, University Health Center: abender@uhs.uga.edu.
