Raised in African bush country by her zoologist parents, Cady Heron thinks she knows about survival of the fittest. But the law of the jungle takes on a whole new meaning when the home-schooled 15-year-old enters public high school for the first time and encounters psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenage girls face today.

Andrea "Andy" Sachs, an aspiring journalist fresh out of college, lands the magazine job "a million girls would kill for": junior personal assistant to editor Miranda Priestly, who dominates the fashion world from her perch atop Runway magazine. The environment in the place is cold and extremely critical with the physical appearance. Andy has to change her simple and plain style, for a more trendy and elegant one, in order to gain the acceptance of her ruthless boss and colleagues. Maybe the old Andrea has gone, now more preoccupied about her image and her future in the magazine.

This is the story of Ana, a first generation Mexican-American teenager on the verge of becoming a woman. Freshly graduated from high school, Ana receives a full scholarship to Columbia University. Torn between her mainstream ambitions and her cultural heritage she agrees to work with her mother at her sister's downtown LA sewing factory. Over the summer she learns to admire the hardworking team of women who teach her solidarity and teamwork. Still at odds with what her mother expects of her, Ana realizes that leaving home to continue her education is essential to finding her place proudly in the world as an American and Chicana.

Yoga for Every Body at UHC

Celebrate and nurture body, mind, and spirit with a hatha yoga session! This session is designed to help you to calm the mind, relax the body, nourish the spirit,and enhance body awareness. You will be introduced to gentle yoga postures, meditation, relaxation, and breathing practices. No experience with yoga is necessary. Yoga mats and cushions will be provided. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early as space is limited.

"Do I Look Fat?" is a feature-length documentary on gay men, body image and eating disorders. It is a comprehensive introduction to how such a small word like "fat" managed such large and complex meanings among gay individuals and the community as a whole.

activities for EveryBody and to increase awareness of the dangers of too restrictive eating and the social, emotional and physical consequences of food-, size-, and weight-obsessions.
Candlelight Vigil

FLY student organization will hold a candlelight vigil to remember victims of eating disorders as well as provide light as a message of hope for recovery for those who struggle with eating and body image issues. All are welcome.
