Two one-year postdoctoral fellow positions are expected to be available for 2009-10 at Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at The University of Georgia. We also expect to have a two-year postdoctoral position for 2009-2010. CAPS is located at the University Health Center. Admission requirements include completion of all professional degree requirements from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or an APA/CPA accredited program and completion of an APA approved pre-doctoral internship. All fellows must have received their diplomas prior to the first day of the fellowship or have a letter from the Director of Graduate Studies verifying that all degree requirements (including dissertation/clinical research project) have been met. Previous counseling center experience is preferred.

These positions are designed for individuals who are interested in meeting the requirements for licensure and working in a multi-disciplinary university health center with a focus on clinical service to students. The 12-month fellowship will tentatively begin on August 17, 2009, and end on August 16, 2010. The 2000-hour postdoctoral program meets all requirements for licensure in the state of Georgia, including a minimum of 500 direct contact hours. Fellows are provided two hours per week of individual supervision by psychologists who have been licensed for more than three years. Fellows will participate in group supervision through a weekly case conference meeting.

The stipend for the 2009-2010 postdoctoral fellow is $27,000. Fellows are also eligible for staff benefits which include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, professional development and travel allowance of $250.00, top-rated exercise facility across the street from CAPS, library privileges, and licensing preparation time.
