Crystal Meth
methamphetamine

Form

Crystal Meth can be snorted, injected, smoked, and taken orally.

When and Why is it Used?

Crystal Meth is a club drug and a powerfully addictive stimulant that when smoked or injected offers the user a "rush" or "flash". When the drug is taken orally or snorted it produces a euphoric high that can last up to half a day.

Other Facts

Taking Crystal Meth intravenously leads to an increased risk of catching the HIV/AIDS virus.

Can lead to irreversible damage to blood vessels in the brain, producing strokes.

Researchers have reported that as much as 50 percent of the dopamine-producing cells in the brain can be damaged after exposure to even low levels of methamphetamine. This brain damage is like that caused by strokes or Alzheimer's disease.
