amphetamine-dextroamphetamine / methylphenidate
Form
Ritalin comes in pill or tablet form. It can be taken orally or crushed,
resulting in a powder which is snorted or dissolved in water and "cooked"
for intravenous use.
When and Why it is Used
Abusers are usually adolescents and young adults who are using MPH for its
stimulant effects, which include appetite suppression, wakefulness (for
all-nighters), increased focus, and euphoria.
Other Facts
Can also lead to restlessness, hallucinations, and delusions, excessive
repetition of movements and meaningless tasks, and formication.
Pharmacologically, it works primarily on the neurotransmitter dopamine,
and in that respect resembles cocaine.

may impose further regulations, such as limiting the number of dosage units
per prescription.
