Financial InformationFees and ServicesAll UGA students and their spouses may use health center services. Full-time students are required to pay a health fee each semester. Students taking five or fewer credit hours and all students' spouses and domestic partners may either pay the health fee and receive the same benefits as a full-time student, or choose to use the health center on a fee-for-service basis.
Students who pay the health fee may see clinicians in the Acute Care, Medical, Women's and Sports Medicine Clinics without a visit charge between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm on Monday - Friday. A $25 copayment is charged for all visits during urgent care hours, 5 - 8 pm on Monday - Friday, and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Additional treatments and services are charged a reduced fee on a per-visit basis. This includes prescriptions, laboratory tests, x-rays, physical therapy and dental care. Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) offers the first consultation at no charge. For subsequent visits, psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring and group therapy, charges apply. Payment ResponsibilityNon-payment on an account will result in that student's records being flagged (checklisted) the following business day. Flagged records prohibit registration and readmission, and result in the withholding of transcripts. The flag will be removed when the account is paid in full. If a student's spouse or domestic partner has a delinquent bill, the student's records will be flagged. Former students are eligible for services at the health center for one semester after their last enrolled semester. To be eligible for this extended care, the UGA health fee must be paid at the UHC Business Office.
